Requirements

To qualify for the Presidential Scholarship, you must be an incoming freshman, first-year college student who has demonstrated exceptional academic ability through your test scores and class rank. You must also be enrolled in a Texas Tech University program of study. Please note that this scholarship does not apply to programs offered by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), Texas Tech Costa Rica, or Angelo State University. However, you can still apply for scholarships from those institutions separately.

Eligibility

Once you receive the Presidential Scholarship, you must maintain the following eligibility criteria throughout your TTU academic career:

  • Keep a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) as outlined on the “Terms and Conditions” tab of MyTech.
  • Stay enrolled full time in a Texas Tech University academic program and accumulate at least 30 TTU hours per year (checked in May).
  • Update your addresses, including email address, on MyTech regularly.
  • Write a thank you letter to the scholarship donor when and as directed by the Texas Tech University Scholarship Office.
  • Attend required donor events.

Please note that TTU Costa Rica Students are not eligible for this scholarship.

How to Apply

To apply for the Presidential Scholarship, you do not need to submit a separate application. You will automatically be considered for this award when you apply for admission to Texas Tech University.
