Save

Are you a young researcher from Sub-Saharan Africa looking for an opportunity to conduct research in Europe? Do you want to collaborate with leading scholars and establish academic and research contacts in Europe? If yes, then you should apply for the 2024 Coimbra Group Scholarship Program.

The Coimbra Group is an association of 41 European universities that aims to increase cooperation and exchange among its members and with other regions of the world. The Coimbra Group Scholarship Program offers short-term visits (generally 1 to maximum 3 months) to young African researchers from higher education institutions from Sub-Saharan Africa. The scholarships are financially supported by the Coimbra Group member universities participating in this program, while the Coimbra Group Office is in charge of the administrative management of the applications.

The main aim of this scholarship program is to enable scholars to undertake research in which they are engaged in their home institution and to help them establish academic and research contacts in Europe. The scholarship covers the full cost of travel, accommodation, and living expenses during the stay at the host university. The scholarship also provides access to the academic and research facilities of the host university.
