How to Apply for the International Student Grant at Ohio State University 2024

Save

Are you an international student who is close to graduating from Ohio State University? Do you need some financial assistance to complete your degree? If yes, then you may be eligible for the International Student Grant offered by the Office of International Affairs.

The International Student Grant is a partial tuition grant that is awarded each semester to international students who are within two semesters of graduation and who have demonstrated financial need. The grant amount varies depending on the availability of funds and the number of applicants. The grant is not intended to cover the full cost of tuition and fees, but to supplement your own resources.

To apply for the grant, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a non-immigrant international student (F-1 or J-1 status) currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at Ohio State University.
  • You must be within two semesters of graduation and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (for undergraduates) or 3.0 (for graduates).
  • You must demonstrate financial need to complete your current degree and explain your situation in a letter.
  • You must have never received an OIA grant before at your current degree level.

If you meet these criteria, you can submit your application online through the Office of International Affairs website. You will need to provide the following documents:

  • International Student Grant Application Form
  • Letter explaining why you need the grant and how you will use it
  • Any additional documentation to support your case, if necessary

The application deadline is usually one month before the start of the semester. You will be notified by email about the grant committee’s decision. All decisions are final. If you are awarded the grant, it will be deposited directly into your account at Fees and Deposits.
