University of Essex Sussex Graduate Scholarship for International Students 2024

Are you a 2024 Sussex graduate with a First Class or Upper Second Class Bachelors degree? Do you want to pursue a Masters degree at Sussex in September 2024? If yes, then you may be eligible for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship, a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for eligible Masters courses.

What is the Sussex Graduate Scholarship?

The Sussex Graduate Scholarship is a scholarship scheme that rewards the academic excellence of Sussex graduates who wish to continue their studies at Sussex. The scholarship offers a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for either a full-time or part-time eligible Masters course.

Who can apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship?

To apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship, you must:

  • Be graduating from Sussex in 2024 with a First Class or Upper Second Class Bachelors degree
  • Have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible Masters course, either part time or full time, to start in September 2024
  • 2024 graduates from Bachelors degrees at the Sussex Artificial Intelligence Institute, Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJSU) are also eligible for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship, if they have graduated with a First or Upper Second Class degree

Who cannot apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship?

You cannot apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship if you:

  • Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
  • Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
  • Studied at a University of Sussex partner institution (such as BIMM or ISC)
  • Studied at a UK University’s overseas campus or external programme
  • Already hold another University of Sussex scholarship (such as the Sussex India Scholarship)
  • Are studying one of the excluded courses listed below

What are the excluded courses?

The following courses are not eligible for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship:

  • Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
  • Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
  • Courses at IDS
  • Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status)
  • Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
  • Online courses
  • School direct teaching courses
  • Masters funded by the research councils (such as ESRC 1+3 funding)

How many scholarships are available?

There is no limit to the number of scholarships available. All eligible applicants who register their interest will receive the scholarship.

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline to apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship is 30 September 2024 23:59 (GMT).

How do I apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship?

You can apply for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship by registering your interest via the PG Apply portal when you accept our offer of a place on an eligible Masters course. If you have applied via one of our overseas representatives, you will need to ask them to do this on your behalf.

You must register your interest in the scholarship via PG Apply before you register on your Masters degree.

What else should I know about the Sussex Graduate Scholarship?

Here are some additional information and terms and conditions that you should be aware of:

  • Scholarship recipients will see confirmation of the scholarship when they register for their chosen Masters in September.
  • If you require a visa to study at Sussex, the scholarship and fee reduction will be included on your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study), provided by Admissions for your visa application.
  • The scholarship is subject to the following conditions:
    • Applicants must have accepted an offer to study an eligible Masters course in 2024
    • Applicants must have also met any conditions of their university offer
    • Applicants who are awarded another University of Sussex scholarship will no longer be eligible for the Sussex Graduate Scholarship
    • Applicants must have sufficient funds to cover the balance of academic and living expenses
    • Applicants may be invited by the University to assist with promotion (to a maximum of 40 hours per year)
